Why Do I License?

Licensing provides a number of benefits to pets and their owners. A pet license gives your pet a free ride home and avoid impoundment if found by Animal Services. Having up-to-date contact information on the license helps to ensure the owner’s location and get the pet home safely. If a pet is found injured, the information from the license provides important vaccination status as well as owner contact information.

The fees from licensing are used to support local programs to help Osceola County pets! Other goals of animal licensing are to promote responsible pet ownership and to reduce the tragedies associated with lost pets and pet overpopulation.
