Payment for your license is due on the expiration date of your current license. If you are licensing for the first time, you must purchase a license for a pet over the age of 4 months at the time of initial rabies vaccination or within 30 days of moving into Alachua County.
You may license by mail and pay for your license with a check or money order made payable to “Alachua County Animal Resources Licensing.”
You may license online and pay for your license with a major credit card. A convenience fee will apply per transaction. Multiple pets can be licensed in one transaction.
You may license in person at participating veterinary clinics at the time of rabies vaccination. Please bring a copy of your pet's current rabies certificate.
- A current rabies vaccination certificate is required if the rabies vaccination on file has expired. Please check your certificate for correct address and pet information.
Your paperwork will not be returned to you, so please retain a copy of your documents for your records.
To license by mail:
- Enclose copies of all required paperwork. The license application below may be downloaded and included, but it is not required.
- Determine the correct license fee for each of your pets.
- Make your check or money order payable to “Alachua County Animal Resources Licensing.” Please do not send cash.
