Instructions to License Online

Ready to purchase your license? If you would like to license online, a convenience fee of $1.95 will apply for each transaction. Any required documents, such as your pet's current rabies vaccination certificate, may be scanned and uploaded or submitted later by fax, mail or email. The license will be issued after all required documents are received.

Required Paperwork

Please submit a copy of your current rabies vaccination certificate, signed by a licensed veterinarian. An invoice or statement of services is not sufficient as proof of rabies vaccination. Check your certificate for correct address and pet information. If your pet is spayed or neutered, or if you are 65 years of age or older, be sure this information is indicated on your certificate.

Your paperwork will not be returned to you, so please be sure to mail a photocopy or duplicate copy of your vaccination certificate.

Donations are welcomed for capital improvement for the new shelter and for the City of Dallas spay/neuter subsidy program. If you are including a donation with your registration payment, please indicate which program you would like your donation to be applied toward.

The cost for licensing unaltered or fertile pets is higher than for licensing spayed or neutered pets in order to promote sterilization and to reduce pet overpopulation and starvation.
