Licensing Ordinance

All dogs and cats 6 months of age and older must be licensed with Palm Beach County within 30 days of being in the county.

Due Date

Payment for your license is due by the expiration date of your prior license. Licenses are valid for one year from the date of the rabies vaccination or the anniversary of the vaccination date, and cannot be valid beyond the expiration of the current rabies vaccination.

If your pet is being licensed for the first time, you must purchase a license within 30 days of acquiring your pet, and within 30 days of moving into Palm Beach County. License tags are required by law for all cats and dogs 6 months of age or older.

A late fee of $10 is added to the license fee if your license is not purchased within 30 days of the license expiration date.

License Term

By ordinance, licenses are valid for one year from the date of the rabies vaccination or the anniversary of the vaccination date. A license cannot be valid for a longer period than the current rabies vaccination.
