Animal License Amnesty andMicrochip ID Promotion
The City of Antioch’s Animal Services office has declared a citywide dog license amnesty for the month of June, 2005. During June, the required late fee of $30 will be waived.
All dogs within the city, that are at least 4 months of age, must have a current rabies vaccination and a current City of Antioch license. License fees for spayed/neutered dogs are $14, $26, and $38. These fees represent licenses valid for one year, two years or three years, respectively. For unaltered animals the fees are $30, $56, and $82, again for one, two or three years respectively.
City of Antioch, Animal Service officials are offering this amnesty period in an effort to encourage pet owners to have their dogs vaccinated against rabies and licensed in compliance with city ordinances.
As an added service, during the month of June, pet owners may have their animals (dogs and cats) microchipped at the shelter for $15! The price for this service is regularly $25.00 for Antioch residents and $45.00 for those outside Antioch. Dogs must have a current license to take advantage of this offer. Microchipping is a great way to help reunite lost pets with their owners.
Dog licenses may be purchased at the Animal Shelter, 300 ‘L’ Street, Antioch. Office hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10:00am to 4:00pm and Tuesday and Thursday 10:00am to 8:00pm. Microchipping is by appointment. For further licensing information, click here or call 1-877-238-2698. For an appointment to microchip your pet, please call 925-779-6989.
